Austin housing stock swings from mid-century bungalows in Brentwood to new construction in Mueller to high-rise condos downtown, and the bathrooms swing with it. A hall bath in Hyde Park has a different curb, a different ceiling height and a different tolerance for a wide swinging door than a primary suite near Zilker or a remodel in Tarrytown or East Austin.
So we size every panel, hinge and header to the room we are standing in. Where a central-Austin footprint is genuinely tight, a sliding panel or a pivot set to swing inward and outward reclaims the floor a wide swing would waste, without giving up the seal.
